Why Paid Ads Might Be Draining Your Budget Instead of Filling Your Classes

By Jackie Murphy, host

So many yoga and Pilates studio owners ask me: “Should I be running ads?”

My answer? Not until you’ve heard this.

Before you launch your first (or next) Facebook or Instagram campaign, there are three things I want to make sure you really understand:

1. If
your organic marketing isn’t working, ads won’t fix it.

Paid traffic can’t solve for messaging that doesn’t convert. If people aren’t engaging, signing up, or staying on your list now, paying to put that same message in front of more people is like lighting money on fire.

2. Ads work—but only with testing and refinement.

Even good ads need data, optimization, and patience. This isn’t set-it-and-forget-it. It's test, review, refine, repeat. The people who win at ads aren’t lucky—they’re strategic.

3. Letting AI run your ads without strategy is a fast track to wasted spend.

Yes, Meta is smart. But the algorithm doesn’t know your brand, your audience, or your goals. If you don’t learn the basics, you’re letting AI decide what your potential clients see—and how much you pay for it.

Want to know if your studio is
really ready to run ads? I break all of this down in this week's episode– just press play.
